As trainers it is really important for us to understand some basic information with regards to the (CS) Cardiorespiratory System. The CS covers things like (Heart Rate, Resting Heart Rate, Heart Rate Reserve, Stroke Volume, etc). All of these items play a critical role when we are working with our client. If you have a client that is on Beta Blockers, has HBP (High Blood Pressure), PAD’s, or any other heart related issues, it is your job to understand how your client will react when performing certain exercises or anabolic related task. Before they can partake in cardiovascular training we need to know what zone to place them in to get the best benefit from that program. NASM has a GREAT blog that just came out that covers all of these topics.
